LOCAL 943 CONNECTS WITH THE COMMUNITY
Feb 14, 2015
As part of the 943 December senate meeting, Priscilla Steinmetz and Rhonda Schultz, from The Bridge Teen Center, presented an overview and then a tour of their facility located at 15555 S. 71st Court in Orland Park. The center has served more than 2,700 different students from 98 area communities. Their mission is to provide free programs during after school and unsupervised hours that help teenagers develop in a holistic way. Local 943 Treasurer Dan Leib, after visiting the center and seeing their programs, stated that he wished a facility such as this had existed when he was a student. “I would have been there every night!” Contact the Bridge Center at 708-532-0500.
The next scheduled community visit was to the Oak Lawn Children’s Museum, where the February senate meeting was held.. The museum is a place for families to learn, explore and soar together. It's a place for children to be creative, to role play, and to build.
